Advanced Call Blocker privacy policy
Historical privacy information for the retired Advanced Call Blocker app, including Pro and Trial versions.
Advanced Call Blocker is deprecated and no longer available. Phone-number reporting and shared block-list downloads are no longer offered. The information below describes the former app’s practices, including past collection; it does not state that historical records have been deleted.
App permissions
The app used Android permissions to process calls and messages, apply blocking rules, work with contacts, and manage its settings and history. Permissions and features varied by edition and Android version. A permission allowed access on the device; server transmission for reporting is described separately below.
Former number-reporting service: Pro and Trial
The Pro and Trial editions used an internet connection to report numbers and download a shared block list. Reported numbers could be shared with other users.
A report could contain:
- The phone number being reported.
- The contact name associated with that number, if present.
- The phone number associated with the reporting device.
- Any category or comments voluntarily supplied by the user.
This information was used to assess whether a reported number was spam or otherwise offensive, categorize it, identify repeated reports from one user, and compare area-code locations.
Automatic reporting was enabled by default in Pro and Trial. Adding a number to the block list also reported it unless Preferences → Auto-Report Numbers was disabled.
Historical sharing commitments
The original policy stated that user data would not be sold, given away, or otherwise disseminated to third parties, except for sharing reported phone numbers as described above. It separately stated that the reporting user’s phone number and the reported number’s contact name would not be sold or shared.
Trial identifier
The Trial edition collected a unique device ID solely to manage the free-trial duration. The original policy stated that this ID would not be shared or sold to another person or organization.
